31DBBB First Day: Setting Goals for this Blog

The assignment for the first day of the 31DBBB was to write an elevator pitch…Darren Rowse says that while the idea of an elevator pitch is usually something that start up entrepreneurs are encouraged to do when looking for investors – developing an elevator pitch for your blog is also a smart move.

‘One of the most important reasons to do this exercise is that to develop an elevator pitch YOU as a blogger need to have thought through and crystallised in your mind what your blog is about.

If you’re fuzzy on what your blog is about it’s unlikely than anyone else will have much of an idea either.’

What is an Elevator Pitch?
“An elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch can be delivered in the time span of an elevator ride (for example, thirty seconds or 100-150 words).” – Wikipedia

So, in order to communicate what this fairly new blog means to me
I’m presenting a goal-setting message to my visitors at the top-right sidebar that says:

I want Apprentice Marketer Gazette to be a place where we reminisce about the extraordinary events we’ve lived through these past 60 years, share talk and plans for a great life after 60… and also be a reliable source of information for any boomers who may need to get up to snuff with basic internet marketing skills that could enrich their life and their pocketbook too.

The categories include: Ask my Grandma, Life After Sixty and Making Money Online addressing the interests and concerns of Baby Boomers…

I hope for lots of interaction with visitors – please leave your comments – and also with suscribers to my Weekly email Course for Beginner Boomers/Marketers… it’s true that there is a lot of good
information about making money on the web but I’m addressing the nitty-gritty basics that many of you don’t have the time to search for…
