Steve says he might be ruffling some feathers because he says that the reader needs to dedicate 15 hours/week working on his business and goes on to describe some production “hacks” he uses … not saying they will make things easy but make it possible to accomplish more with the time you’re given … so you can work on your business without disrupting your professional life or your family … but take it seriously like you would anything that’s important in life.

Personally I like the quote: ‘If you’re willing to do now what others do not you will have what others will not!’

Steve struggled from 2002 to 2006 … doesn’t like sleazy marketers who tell people it’s easy to run an online business … he admits to some obstacles being self-created while others were caused by following bad advice!

He says:

“In my opinion, affiliate marketing is the best way to make money on the Internet.
Whenever someone asks me how to get started on the Internet, I always recommend
this business model.

Not only is it great for the short-term, it’s also an excellent way to build a long-term income.
Unfortunately there’s a lot of misinformation about affiliate marketing.

Some “gurus” love to overcomplicate the process. Others want you to believe it’s easy and doesn’t
require any effort.

I feel you can easily simplify affiliate marketing. The trick, however, is to know how to make money from it without wasting lots of time.

In this section, I’m going to reveal my personal blueprint for earning an income from
affiliate marketing.

I have been signed up to a free course about making money with affiliate marketing niche sites. In Build.Rank.Profit, Alex Whalley goes into every detail from beginning steps of how to set up a website or blog to being able to make money and beyond to promotion

I was influenced to sign up after reading this post in Alex Whalley’s blog he wrote right after New Year 2012 when he was planning his Build.Rank.Profit course. I totally agreed with his opinion about the tendency to try “do a million things at once and jumping on every bandwagon that drives past!!”

Building an Online Work from Home Income | Frustrations and Rewards!

In this post I want to provide information and direction to readers who wish to produce a work from home income.

In the past few weeks I’ve been narrowing the direction of this blog in an effort to provide useful information about building an online income.

There are at least two aspects of living your life on your terms that need to be considered 1. being mentally ready to make the transition from a ‘JOB’ and a paycheck 2. deciding how to earn enough to pay the bills! There are all kinds of practical consideration like having a little chunk of money saved up before cutting loose … I’ll skip over that since it so elementary!

Most of us took a job after getting out of school and were congratulated for being responsible! Now that you wish to live life on your terms, take time to consider some alternatives or you might be getting involved in various online schemes that will waste time, money and energy because they didn’t work out!

‘Income Trilogy Report’ by Steve Scott of ‘Steve Scott Site’

Steve Scott of ‘Steve Scott Site’, one of the sources of information I’ve been referring you to has written an excellent ebook ‘IncomeTrilogyReport.pdf‘ that he offers for free at his blog. He draws on several years experience he has in making a good income with affiliate marketing, to describe three basic ways to make an on online work from home income.

Briefly, these are 1.writing for a living, 2.affiliate marketing 3.publishing ebooks etc. Since these match some of the ways I have directed my efforts to earn a work from home income I have decided they will be the focus of my writing on this blog.

Steve Scott’s Income Trilogy Report’s 88 pages are divided as follows: a few pages answering Internet questions and then pages 14 through 35 about different aspects of writing for business, pages 37 through 54 about affiliate marketing and pages 56 through 77 about information products he labels as long term income. Then some more general and valuable information about business.

I have written some articles about the business of freelance writing, ghostwriting, PLR etc. on this blog – titles will show as related articles below this post – and of course writing is required for a lot of the online business you might be doing such as affiliate marketing.

Writing for your business would not be like writing for your english teacher … you need to be able to describe a product or get a point across like you’re writing to a friend, and you’ll do fine even if you make spelling mistakes as long as you take time to proofread before you publish.

If you don’t feel confident creating or promoting information products or even writing articles there are freelance professionals you can pay to take over and PLR providers who research subjects they write about and sell their packs of 5 or 10 articles at very reasonable rates; this helps get around the problem of lacking inspiration and all that is needed is to slightly rewrite these articles to add your personality.

I will be writing more about the other parts of Steve Scott’s report. There is plenty of ground to cover and I will continue to write on these subjects.

Is Celebrating the Big Six-Zero Birthday Mixed With Fears of Facing Life After Sixty?

Are you scared of old age when you think of entering this phase of life after sixty? Don’t be. While the fear of death is a natural one, there is nothing to fear from living life as an older person.

Yet, many of us do have that fear. It’s understandable: fears that our health may not be what it was, or that we won’t have enough money, or that we won’t have enough to do are common ones. However, while some things are unpredictable, we have the power to influence many of the outcomes we fear the most.

If you’re heading towards sixty or have recently been congratulated for that big ‘six-zero’ birthday remember that much of your life is within your control, in more ways than you might realize. Address whatever fears you might have about getting older, rather than allowing them to hold you back.

Health

Loss of good health is a major worry for many people as they age. Now, it’s fair enough to be concerned. Part of the aging process is that our bodies slow down and begin to wear. We can’t prevent this from happening, in fact our body starts to slow down in our twenties!

While we can’t magically turn back the clock, a healthy and active lifestyle will greatly minimize the effects of aging and the minor health problems that happen to most of us. Some of us mignt have to face major health problems at some future time, but it’s best to avoid any useless worrying.

People

Being older can be an isolating experience for some. If you’re in a relationship, this is often a good time to re-connect if you feel you have drifted apart. If you cannot, or you’re unhappy, get out, give yourself a chance to find someone new. Being single and happy is much less lonely than being coupled and unhappy. Don’t think, either, that being older means you have to forget about sex … over half of those aged 75-85 have sex at least twice a month.

When it comes to friends and family, make an effort. When you retire and lose your routine, it’s often easy to become isolated. Find a new routine that involves regular social dates.

Identity

Many people’s biggest fear once they retire is that they will lose their identity. If you’ve worked hard for years and built your life around your job and the status it entails, then it’s hard to suddenly lose it. Retirement from full-time work can be a sudden shock for some. If you’ve been a stay-at-home parent much of your life, then children leaving home can cause the same worries.

Remember that identity does not need to come just from work. If you’re worried about being an ‘invisible’ person at home alone, then do something to prevent that from happening. Perhaps you have skills that you can put to use in a local charity? Or perhaps you could go back to education? Earlier in life, both work and education are pursued for a purpose. Now, you can do them just for fulfillment.

Money

If you’re worried about money once you retire, that’s understandable, especially in today’s uncertain economic climate. Sit down and work out your likely income and expenses, and see if there’s a gap to be made up, or if you’re just not going to have enough to do the things you want to, look at ways you can make up the difference. Perhaps you could sell your home and downsize? Or perhaps you could find a way to make some extra income? Retirement is not necessarily as sudden a change as it used to be. Why not look at starting a small business from home? We all have business ideas that we’ve just been too busy to pursue while working full-time. Retirement could be the opportunity you need to do just that.

Opportunity

Retirement is also a chance to work towards whatever other things you want to do, but never had the chance to. Have you ever heard a retired person say that they ‘don’t know how they had the time to work’? Busy people are normally happy people, so get out and do things. Japanese people like Shukan Shincho call retirement their ‘second life’. Perhaps their example is the one to follow.

Betty Jameson is just back from a Caribbean Cruise where she stopped off to do some mountain biking in the beautiful Dominican Republic. As soon as she returned home it was time to get a bicycle insurance comparison and a new bike as she had found a new hobby.

Chances are that writing content will be one of the ways you choose to communicate soon after talking. Even before the small child starts to formulate some words, people start to show him picture books (ok, graphics might come first!) and in a few short years he or she will go from learning the letters of the alphabet to stringing words together and then reading and writing.

It’s no wonder then that when we’re ready to promote or sell something, we want to use words and graphics to let the world know about it!

Life After Sixty! Are New Beginnings Possible?

Life after sixty marks some turning points for most people … after all, by sixty many of life’s irreversible choices are already made! You’ve already either had children or not, you’ve either had the career you wanted or you haven’t, you’ve either paid into a mortgage or you haven’t…isn’t it all a bit too late to start to think about new beginnings?

It doesn’t have to be. It is precisely because you have already lived a good proportion of your life that at sixty, you can start to really be yourself. The kids have left home, you’re either retired or gearing up to it, and a whole new world of possibilities is there to be opened.

Because you don’t have to worry any more about getting the kids to school on time or slogging out late nights at work to try and get that promotion, you’re more able to follow your dreams.

What is it that you’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t had the chance to? Sixty might be just the right time to think about doing it.

There is a much celebrated poem, Warning, by the British poet Jenny Joseph, in which she describes the freedom she’ll have as she gets older:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.

Later, in the poem, she says:

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

Does that sound familiar? Joseph speaks for many when she describes how she has lived, always having to be sensible and to do the ‘expected’ things. There is a great pressure, when younger, to always be pushing forward on a particular trajectory. At sixty, that pressure is lifted.

After sixty you might be in a better position to enjoy your life

Get out and enjoy doing the things you’ve always wanted to do. It may be difficult to feel that the years are passing, or that you’ve lost your old life, but you cannot do anything about your age. What you can change, is how you use the remaining years of life after sixty you have left!

These days, you’re likely to have quite a few of them. Average life expectancy at birth in the US is now 78, but if you’ve already made it to sixty in relatively good shape, you can expect to live longer than that. These are just some of the things you could do with the ‘extra’ two decades that you’ll have, which those born a couple of generations earlier would not have been able to do.

Start a business

Retirement provides an opportunity to work without needing to worry about making enough to pay the bills. The internet means anyone can be an entrepreneur. If you have a hobby — making jewelry, baking cakes, sculpture — then why not use it to make some money? Very little investment is needed to set up a website and have a home business.

Live abroad

Most of us have unfulfilled travel dreams, and taking lots of long holidays when you retire is great, if you can afford it. It can be more fulfilling and much more affordable to actually live abroad. Some people choose to spend their whole retirement abroad, but that’s not for everyone (especially if you want to be around for the grandchildren).

Spending six months or a year enjoying another culture can be a fantastic experience, and your social security check will go much further in many places than it will in the US.

Write a book

It’s often said that ‘everyone’s got a book in them’. What’s yours? You don’t have to write a novel or even look for a publisher. A book about your life, family and experiences might be just as fun to write, or you might enjoy researching something related to local history or a particular interest. Print on demand publishers can bring it to life for you without much outlay.

Learn a skill

Use your time to do something you’ve always wanted to do, or challenge yourself with something you’d never thought of, from yoga to metalwork!

Betty Jameson is just back from a Caribbean Cruise where she met a couple in their 60′s who were staying in the beautiful Dominican Republic for a month after the cruise finished. Betty, on the other hand, is back to work.
