Maybe you’ll shed a few tears… as I did… I only showed this because
I thought that we all need to be reminded sometimes how much a
little kindness can accomplish… even a smile given to a stranger
might make her day!
Some might say that Dr. Wayne Dyer was ‘exploiting’ his listeners’ emotions… and I would reply that people in his audience were there
to recharge their emotional quotient… to feel some kind of power
amidst the helpless feeling a lot of the daily news engenders…
many would scoff at the broken beads and half-empty perfume
bottle as too schmaltzy…
I say that the chance the boy Mrs. Thompson had repeatedly put
down would bring any kind of gift is the most amazing part of the
story!
He had not given up… he was still trying and that changed two lives, his and Mrs. Thompson’s plus the uncounted lives they
went on to touch!
One of Wayne Dyer’s books titled ‘Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao’ reminds
his readers that charity begins at home… what we tell ourselves
does make a big difference.
I’d like to get your opinion… what do you think of this story?

Yes, this did indeed bring tears. When a person you know or even just meet, gives you a first impression that is an instant dislike, it is sometimes hard to look past the initial negative feeling for them. This story tells us that many times we are wrong in who we think a person really is. Mrs. Thompson, found this out, and with the her new perception righted a wrong, and in return received a beautiful gift, acceptance and compassion.
Hi Jen,
Thank you so much for your comment… you're so right when you
say "this story tells us that many times we are wrong in who we think a person really is".
Most of the time we don't realize how much power we have to
influence other people's lives.
