Thank you Connor! You know what they say... practice makes perfect ...
not that I ever expect perfection! I visited your site and found it very
interesting... I'll go back when I have a little more time and see if one
the money making systems you describe might work for me...
I tried leaving a comment but it wasn't accepted,
Fran :)

That's a long comment you left... I'll admit I skimmed through it! I know about the
robot.txt file and I believe anyone who wants traffic doesn't want to use that file.
Anyway I don't worry as a rule and try to live and let live,
Have a great day,

Fran

Another good reason not to put links to your product on your web website is that it can cause this back door to your products to appear on the search engines as links others can use. Google can realize the links and index them and they may seem fairly high in search engine rankings and that's terribly dangerous for the security of your product. Some risks that your product page may get leaked are outside of your control. There are internet thieves who would collect your many thanks page and products URL where and post them on newsgroups and forums dedicated to underground theft of online products. The particular amount of thefts you might have from that occuring is fairly small. The important downside is if those postings get picked up and listed on an enquiry engine. Then you'll have a significant security risk. There's one step that can eliminate the search engine problem that is the bigger risk of your thanks or product pages for Clickbank getting "out there". That is to contact your net hosting provider. They have a method at the server level to build a customized security file that's checked by the search engines to exclude bound files kind changing into indexed. By adding the URL for your merchandise page on Clickbank along with your many thanks page, even if those links get listed, you stop the bleeding as a substitute so the amount of losses can be quite minimal. But this approach should be used with extreme caution. The file that many net hosting servers used is called the robots.txt file. The matter is that hackers are terribly tuned in to that file as much as search engines are. And if a hacker can find that file, and they'll, that opens the door for the locations of your product files to be stolen and then posted on another net web site which opens the entire will of worms all over again. The best issue is to not reference those locations in the least thus if there is visiting be any leakage of their location, it can be through hackers whose influence is minimal at best. That method a minimum of you're living a clean life and doing what you can. And by watching the Clickbank FAQ and updates notices thus you're continually latest on any new security updates they're fixing place.

Hi... I have no idea why you need to get off your rump but I
wish you luck with your squidoo lenses... using your
keywords and promoting the lenses will get you results!

Well, it's been about six years since I even thought about these things. Brings some thoughts to mind and also reminds me I need to get off my rump. You probably didn't intend it that way, but I'm happy to have run across ya!

was a clip shown on C-Span.org.
